Delivery Options and Charges
Delivery
We attempt to dispatched your shoes the following day to receiving your order. However, we do maintain a 28 day delivery policy. Your shoes will be delivered using Recorded Signed For post. When there is a delay to items sent outside the UK it is often due to your local mail service, please take this into consideration when waiting for delivery of your order. If, for some reason items in your order are out of stock, we will contact you immediately to organise a replacement, no payment will have taken at this point and any part order will not be sent out for delivery unless requested. French Sole do not take any payment until the goods have been picked for your entire order.
If the customer supplies an incorrect delivery address and the order is returned to us, French Sole will not refund any delivery costs. The same applies to overseas orders, if your local postal service are unable to find your address to deliver your goods and the package is returned to us, French Sole will not refund any delivery costs associated with the order. It is the customers responsibility to enter their address correctly and to make sure the address is known to their local postal service, this is also true for City Link deliveries.
Delivery Charges
French Sole Limited reserve the right to adjust the delivery charges offered (pre purchase) as and when necessary. This measure has become necessary due to increasing fuel tariffs passed to us by our carriers. VAT will be charged to shipping costs where applicable. All shipping costs listed on the website are shown without VAT and the VAT cost is calculated and shown as a total combined for both goods and shipping. City Link Deliveries
We will send you an email specifying your City Link delivery reference number as soon as the order is processed for delivery. It is the responsibility of the customer to give French Sole the correct delivery address at the time of ordering and to be available at the delivery address specified the next working day. If you are not available City Link will leave a card for you to organise a further delivery attempt, French Sole will also email you to confirm that a delivery was attempted. If you have any problems getting through to City Link with the number provided by them please call our mail order department on 01189 888800 or email us at info@frenchsole.com and we will re-arrange everything for you. City link will only hold your package for five days from the first delivery attempt before returning it to us so please make sure you re-arrange your re-delivery within this period.
We will attempt to resolve any delivery issues as quickly and effectively as possible. Should these issues be the result of an error made by French Sole or City Link we will of course accept responsibility and effect a delivery as quickly as possible with no penalties to the French Sole customer.
However, the customer will be responsible for the following situations:
- In the event that you miss your delivery twice, we may be able to arrange a 3rd delivery attempt with a further charge of £5.00.
- If you have supplied us with incorrect address information or you wish your parcel to be delivered to a different address or depot you are agreeing to a further charge of £10.00.
- If your parcel is returned to us after two delivery attempts and 5 days in the depot you will be refunded the cost of your order less £12.00.
- If you wish a further delivery attempt by City Link instead of a refund then there will be a separate charge of £15.00.
ALL these charges are placed upon us by City Link, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct delivery information at the time of ordering. No one will be exempt from these charges. If you wish to proceed with one of the above additional charges you must contact us directly in order for us to facilitate the request.
City Link will not accept any of these requests directly. In the unlikely event that your request is directly accepted by City Link you are accepting responsibility for the penalty charges and therefore you are permitting French Sole the right to recover the penalty charges directly from the credit card used for your order.
Should this fail you will be invoiced directly and all appropriate actions will be taken to recover these penalty charges. (NB Non mainland parts of the UK will be sent by Royal Mail and charged accordingly as City Link charge a premium delivery rate to these parts of the UK making it non cost effective).
